Catch a Chicago View from Above — Visit These Sightseeing Attractions
Chicago is home to many popular observation decks and skyscraper views of the city. We have compiled a list of some of the must-see sights where you can enjoy a Chicago view from above.
Catch a Chicago View from Above
360 Chicago Observation Deck – Located on the 94th floor of the John Hancock Center, 1000 feet above the Magnificent Mile, this lookout offers panoramic views of the entire Windy City. The deck is home to TILT, Chicago’s highest thrill ride and BAR 94, the most scenic spot to grab a drink.
Navy Pier Centennial Wheel – Not only is this ferris wheel an iconic part of the Chicago skyline, but it also provides breathtaking views of the city and lake. Take a ride on this exciting attraction 200 feet above the ground and soak up the 360-degree views. Be sure to visit this attraction during sunset or the Navy Pier firework shows.
Skydeck Chicago – Step outside the third tallest building in the Western hemisphere. Located on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower, 1,353 feet in the air, this observatory boasts glass ledges that extend out 4.3 feet from the Skydeck, providing jaw-dropping views.
London House – This rooftop bar was recently voted number two in the nation. Along with delicious bites and drinks, this place also delivers unbeatable views of the Chicago River, Lake Michigan and the Magnificent Mile from the 22nd floor.
Not only do many Chicago attractions offer killer views of the city, but so do many high-rise apartments. Here are just a few of our favorite buildings with competitive sights of the city:
- 727 W Madison – This 492-unit West Loop skyscraper claims the title as Chicago’s tallest building west of the Kennedy Expressway. So naturally it offers sweeping city views from the luxury unit, as well as its large sun terrace with a pool, spa, cabanas, and grilling station.
- Essex on the Park – This impressive, relatively new 56-story high-rise provides residents with an unbeatable lakefront view and living experience. This South Loop high rise features floor-to-ceiling windows and each unit and a dramatic four-story winter garden with an indoor pool overlooking Grant Park.
- Aurelien – For an urban living experience with true city views, look no further than these Gold Coast apartments. The resort-like sun deck and expansive green roof offer luxury amenities and incredible sights of downtown Chicago.
