Things to Do Near The 606

Living near The 606, an elevated trail that runs along the Bloomingdale Trail for nearly 3 miles, comes with many perks for residents of Bucktown and surrounding neighborhoods. Since The 606 officially opened in June 2016, more businesses have opened along the trail as the neighborhoods continue to thrive. The trail’s newest neighbor is Centrum Bucktown, a brand-new luxury apartment building now leasing at the corner of Milwaukee and Leavitt. When residents begin moving into Centrum Bucktown at the end of May, they’ll have the neighborhood at their fingertips. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite places along The 606, from east to west:

At the furthest east end of The 606, Walsh Park is a quick walk to Bucktown’s Cortland Street. Jane’s is a quaint spot tucked away in a small house, perfect for brunch with friends or a romantic dinner. Bucktown Pub is a long-standing neighborhood hangout with a beer garden out back.

If you’re looking to pamper yourself, ZaZaZoo Nail Salon is just across the street from Churchhill Park. The modern Bucktown salon offers an excellent mani/pedi paired with a complimentary LaCriox and Netflix movie.

Directly off Milwaukee’s Spire Garden entrance,  Ipsento 606‘s windows open up directly to the park so customers can enjoy their coffee looking out at the 606. Or it’s a super convenient stop off the trail to pick up a hot drink and keep walking. This stretch of Bucktown has grown tremendously in the past year, with The Stop Along serving up delicious pizza in a retro setting and Small Cheval‘s patio providing the perfect outdoor space and burger combination.

Hop off at Humboldt and walk a few blocks north to Parson’s Chicken & Fish for some fried chicken and a Negroni. The popular patio is always lively in the summer and transforms into a skating rink each winter.

Conveniently located across the street from the Bloomingdale Trail and Park, Archery Bow Range offers classes, events, leagues, and courses for those looking to bow.
